Learn Excel - How To Add In Excel With Sum Formula

It is very simple to Add numbers in Excel using the SUM Formula. There are a few ways of doing Sum in Excel  and I have explained all of them in detail below , you can also refer to my free training video on How To ADD In Excel With Sum Formula 

1.  Using the SUM Formula : The formula to be typed in the cell where you want the total is =sum(number1,number2,number3.......) .

Now let us understand how this works

• =sum( tells Excel that you would like to use the sum formula to add numbers
• number1 is the first number you want to add and you can  type it there like shown in the picture below 
•  number2 is the second number you want to add and you can  type it there like shown in the picture below and so on you can add more numbers.

 


2. Using the SUM Formula : The formula to be typed in the cell where you want the total is =sum(number1,number2,number3.......) .

Now let us understand how this works

• =sum( tells Excel that you would like to use the sum formula to add numbers
• number1 is the first number you want to add and it is in a specific cell like shown in the picture below 
•  number2 is the second number you want to add and it is in a specific cell like shown in the picture below and so on you can add more numbers.
